How we work
SOUTH AMERICAN RIVER DOLPHIN INITIATIVE SARDI
Our focus for 2030
Improve conserved areas
Coordinate with governments
Influence policies to reduce harmful fishing practices
Strengthen aquatic ecosystems
Recruit river dolphin guardians
Networks and Alliances
Additionally, our work is due to the close coordination and collaboration we have with the governments of different countries, NGOs, national and international cooperation agencies, and significantly with indigenous and riverside communities.

Multisectoral Collaboration
Our alliances include actors from various sectors that are fundamental for biodiversity conservation. We work hand in hand with non-governmental organizations, environmental authorities, and educational entities to promote research, awareness campaigns, and protection policies. This multisectoral collaboration not only amplifies our impact but also ensures a holistic and sustainable approach to conservation.
Strengthening Communities
Our strengths as a SARDI team
Formulate the Management and Conservation Plan for South American river dolphins, financed by the International Whaling Commission.
Seven South American countries and the WWF offices have been working collaboratively for seven years to protect river dolphins and their habitat.
We permanently network in search of new opportunities that strengthen the work we do.
We work with the governments of each country to guarantee the creation and implementation of policies that protect the species and its habitat.
